When a WordPress site is connected with the Arva SEO Connector, the SEO titles and meta descriptions you write in On-Page can go straight into the site's SEO plugin, many pages at once. No copying and pasting into WordPress.
Before you start
- The Arva SEO Connector plugin is version 1.1.0 or later.
- The site uses Yoast SEO or Rank Math. The plugin finds which one; if both are active, choose one in WordPress under Arva SEO → Settings → SEO plugin.
- A WordPress administrator has allowed it: in WordPress, open Arva SEO → Settings and tick Existing content under SEO titles and descriptions. It's off until then, and they can turn it off at any time.
Send them
- Open the website, then On-Page. For each page, open it, write the new SEO title and meta description under Current versus recommended (or use the AI suggestions), and Save.
- Back on the list, choose New copy to see the pages with a saved title or description.
- Tick the pages to update, choose whether to send the SEO title, the Meta description or both, then Send to Yoast SEO (or Rank Math) and confirm.
You can also send a single page from its own On-Page view, under On WordPress.
WordPress usually applies them within seconds, or within a few minutes if Arva SEO can't reach the site directly. Each page then shows Updated on WordPress. Only the SEO title and meta description change: the page's content, its date and its revisions stay as they are, and the page cache is cleared so visitors see the change.
Posts, pages and products can be updated, and the homepage. Category, tag and other archive pages can't yet.
Undo a change
WordPress tells Arva SEO what each page had before. To put it back, use Undo on the page's On-Page view, or on the website's WordPress page under Titles and descriptions, where you can also undo everything from the last send at once. A page that had no title of its own goes back to the SEO plugin's default.
When a page isn't updated
The page shows Not updated on WordPress with the reason, for example:
- No post, page or product at this address: the address may be a category or archive page, or it changed since the last audit.
- Not published: Arva SEO only changes published content.
- Not allowed: a WordPress administrator needs to tick Existing content in Arva SEO → Settings.
- No SEO plugin: install or activate Yoast SEO or Rank Math.
The next audit confirms the new titles and descriptions on the live pages.
