Connections → AI has three ways to use AI with Arva SEO. You can use one, two or all three.
Arva SEO AI credits
The AI built into Arva SEO, ready to use. It writes content briefs and drafts, suggests titles and descriptions, reviews your drafts, explains your results in plain words and suggests questions for the AI Search page. Arva Assistant, in the sidebar, uses them too: chatting with it is free, and the titles, descriptions and briefs it prepares use credits.
- Where: inside Arva SEO.
- Cost: included with your plan: 10 credits a month on Free, 30 on Starter, 50 on Professional and 100 on Business. A draft uses 10, a brief 5, ideas 1. For more, add the AI credits add-on or buy a top-up in Plan & billing.
- Set up: nothing to set up: new workspaces have credits switched on. Until 14 November 2026, a workspace created earlier needs an owner or admin to switch them on. New workspaces start with Claude. An owner or admin can choose Claude or OpenAI under Connections → AI → Included AI provider, after confirming the data recipient. Your own key always comes first; allowances stay the same.
- Good for: getting started, and writing now and then.

Your own AI key
The same AI features, using an API key from OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude) or Google (Gemini). Once a key is added it's used first, so no credits are used. A key also lets the AI Search page check what AI answers say about your business.
- Where: inside Arva SEO.
- Cost: the AI company bills you for what you use, usually a few cents or less per suggestion. An API key isn't your ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro or Gemini subscription: it comes from the company's developer site and is billed separately.
- Set up: create a key on the developer site, then choose Add key.
- Good for: writing a lot, choosing the AI model, and checking AI answers.
A connected AI assistant
Work on your SEO by chatting in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok. Your assistant can look at your rankings, audits and Search Console data, plan and write content, and save its work to Arva SEO.
- Where: in your AI assistant's app, connected to your workspace. It sees only what you can see.
- Cost: nothing from Arva SEO, and no credits are used. Your assistant account's plan, availability and limits apply.
- Set up: add the connection in your assistant: Connection details has the steps.
- Good for: people who already use an AI assistant and like to work in chat.

Using more than one
When you write inside Arva SEO, your own key is used if you've added one, and credits are used if you haven't. AI assistants work separately, whichever you use inside Arva SEO.
